FAQS
-------
Q: Why did you make
this site in the first place?
A: One time, I stumbled on a site a while ago that talked about when video game systems died, and such. I liked the site very much, I had it bookmarked. The next day, the site died, and, for what I still know, it is still dead. So, for a long time, I wanted to create a "shrine" so to speak. And so, this site is created.
Q:
Why so many game systems "die" in 1984?
A:
There was a
so-called "Video Game Crash of 1983" in which companies lost market share,
and most of them quit the game business, went into serious debt, or folded.
None of the effects felt like a sudden impact, until 1984, where people
thought that the gaming industry was going to die out.
Q: I noticed you are
missing some systems such as Atari 800, Commodore 128, and Creativision. Why
is that?
A:
Well, those are specifically
computer consoles, like SG-1000 (Very, VERY first Sega System). If I put all
of that in the site, I'll get a armpit load of failed Atari Computer
systems!
Q: Why is "Enter Game Title Here"; not on the Hall of Fame?
A: From 1970-1999, I took most of the games mentioned in a book called "The Ultimate History of Video Games" that has advanced Video Games to a new level. That being said, games like "Halo" are not allowed in the Hall of Fame, because it doesn't advance in gaming technology, it's just another first person shooter. The games that were released after 1999 that are up in the Hall of Fame are games that fall under that rule, and was approved by me to be in the HoF.
I am open for suggestions, so if you got a game that thinks it should go in the Hall, just e-mail me via the contact link and I'll look up and see if it's good enough.
More to Come when I get some good questions.
